What is RTS?

"You might have seen the acronym RTS when talking about Somfy motorized products and wondered what it meant. RTS stands for Radio Technology Somfy® and is Somfy's exclusive control platform enabling users to adjust motorized interior window coverings and motorized exterior products such as awnings, rolling shutters, pergolas and screens from virtually anywhere inside or outside the home. RTS technology works with a variety of Somfy controls including hand-held remotes, wall switches, the myLink app, voice control, and sensors for sun, wind, and rain. RTS allows users to create ambiance and bring their homes to life, providing the ultimate combination of luxury and performance effortlessly! What is the range of my remote control or wall switch? Will my Somfy remotes interfere with other radio-controlled products in my or my neighbors home? Since RTS is radio-based technology, you might wonder if your remotes or controls will interfere with other radio-controlled products in your building or neighborhood. But there's nothing to worry about. Somfy RTS technology utilizes a rolling code with 16 million combinations to ensure that RTS communication is both safe and secure."

What do I do if my Somfy-motorized blind is not working?

"If you're having issues with your Somfy-powered motorized shades and blinds, there are plenty of troubleshooting options that will most likely solve the problem. Most issues are easily fixable with just a few steps. The first thing to do is make sure that your remote is functioning properly. The problem with your Somfy-motorized product could be as simple a fix as a battery change. First, check to see if the remote control LED illuminates when a directional button is pressed. Try the up, down or “my” button on your remote and pay attention to the LED display. If the LED does not illuminate, replace the CR2430 battery in the remote. Next, check that the motor is receiving power. If the motor is battery-powered, here are some quick things you can check to determine what’s causing the issue: Check the connection of the battery wand to the motor. Check that the batteries inside the battery wand are making contact with the spring. If they aren’t, it might be necessary to stretch the spring in order for them to make contact. Check that the end caps of the battery tube are tight and secure. It’s also possible you just need new batteries. Watch the below video to find out how to replace the batteries in your Somfy battery wand: Still have questions? You can also check out the troubleshooting tips in this video if your radio motor does not respond: If your motor is powered by wiring, either plug-in or in-wall, you need to contact the retail dealer or company that installed your system."
